“Lost Canvas” is a quiet archive of what’s left behind — fragments of my action paintings that were lucky enough to be captured and documented. Many of my action paintings found new homes through hands-to-hands that passed them along, while others vanished in the chaos of moving, leaving no trace, no image, no memory but what lingers in my mind. Each undocumented piece feels like a ghost — alive once on canvas, and most of them were never documented at all. Now only surviving through feeling. And these are some of the action paintings that managed to be documented — fragments of a fleeting moment, brushstrokes that survived time, while so many others faded into memory.
